Making Stars

1. Begin with a new file, I choose 300x150, but any size will work, with black as your background color. Then create a new layer in the layers palette.

2. Now set your foreground color to white, then take the Line Tool and apply this settings.

3. Hold down Shift while drawing the Line Tool.

4. Go to Filter>Blur>Motion Blur and set the Angle to -45 and the Distance to 100, press OK.

5. Now duplicate layer1, to do that go the layers palette and right click on layer1 and choose Duplicate Layer. Then go to Edit>Transform>Flip Horizontal.

6. Then press Ctrl+E to merge the layers. Then go the layers palette and right click layer1 and choose Blending Options, then apply this settings. ( Click for larger view )

Now should it look something like this.

7. Now create a new layer in the layers palette, set your foreground color to white, then take the Brush Tool and choose a soft brush, size 40px, then click one time in the center.

That´s it you are done!

This is what I came up with.
