Converting a Photograph into a Painting


Taking pictures of a landscape with your camera is one thing and actually painting a landscape is another thing. Every now and then you get a feeling "what if i could paint this great landscape on a canvas". Well if you know how to take great shots with your camera and you have a copy of photoshop you can easily achieve the effect of a painting done on a canvas. Just follow this tutorial.

Start by opening the photograph that you'd like to convert in a painting.

From filter menu select artistic>>dry brush.

Adjust brush size, details and texture. We used the settings below.

Your photograph will change to an artwork done with paint and brush.

Now in next steps we'll add canvas texture to simulate the effect of a painting done on a canvas. From filter menu select artistic>>rough pastels.

In rough pastels window apply settings as shown. Make sure you select "canvas" in texture option.

This will apply a canvas like texture to our painting.
