Evening Photo


Alter your afternoon photos to make them look like evening photos.


image 1 1. Open the image for editing.

image 2 2. Duplicate the current layer (Ctrl+J) and add a layer mask (Layer> Add Layer Mask> Reveal All).

image 3 3. With the layer mask selected, use the "Apply Image" tool (Image> Apply Image) to apply the following properties:

Source: filename
Layer: Merged
Channel: RGB
Invert: Checkmarked
Blending: Normal
Opacity: 100%

Click OK.


image 4 4. Duplicate the current layer (Ctrl+J).

image 5 5. Using the "Fill" tool (F), fill the new layer with the colour black, select its layer mask and invert (Ctrl+I).

image 6 6. Change the current layer's blending mode to "Overlay" and the middle layer's blending mode to "Difference".

Evening Tutorial: Final Result 7. Adjust the opacity of the top layer to increase or decrease the brightness. Rollover the image in this step to see the original image before this technique was applied.
