Hp Adaptive Light Technology


Lighten dark areas and darken light areas to reveal details.

Open the image for editing.

Duplicate the current layer (Ctrl+J) and add a layer mask (Layer> Add Layer Mask> Reveal All).

With the layer mask selected, use the "Apply Image" tool (Image> Apply Image) to apply the following properties:

Source: filename
Layer: Merged
Channel: RGB
Invert: Uncheckmarked
Blending: Multiply
Opacity: 100%

Click OK.

Duplicate the current layer (Ctrl+J) set the new layers blending mode to "Screen" and the middle layers blending mode to "Multiply".

Select the top layer's layer mask and invert (Ctrl+I).

Select the layer "Background" and use the "Shadow/Highlight" tool (Image> Adjustment> Shadow/Highlight) to increase the "Shadows".
