Learn how to properly open Kodak Photo CD files.


image 1 1. Open the Kodak PCD file. You will be prompt with a dialog box that allows you to adjust the settings.

image 2 2. In the pixel size, select a pixel size suitable for your project. If you are unsure, select the highest pixel size available.

image 3 3. In the profile, select a profile that matches the type of film scanner.

image 4 4. Select the resolution most suitable for the project.

72 ppi - screens (monitors & televisions)
150 ppi - grayscale printer or fabric prints
250 ppi - colour laser printer
300 ppi - colour photo printer


image 5 5. Select the color space suitable for the project.

RGB 8 Bits/Channel - Screen
RGB 16 Bits/Channel - Screen
LAB 8 Bits/Channel - Print
LAB 16 Bits/Channel - Print


image 6 6. Select the orientation of the image.

Landscape: Images with a longer width than height
Portrait: Images with a longer height than width.
