Night Vision


Simulate a photograph taken with a night vision camera. In this tutorial, you will learn how to use several adjustment layers to simulate the effects of a night vision camera.


image 1 1. Open the image for editing. For this tutorial, select a photograph that was taken during the night.

image 2 2. Add a "Channel Mixer" adjustment layer (Layer> New Adjustment Layer> Channel Mixer) and apply the folowing properties:

Monochrome: Checkmarked
Output Channel: Gray
Red: 0%
Green: +100%
Blue: 0%
Constant: 0%

Click OK.


image 3 3. Add a "Hue/Saturation" adjustment layer (Layer> New Adjustment Layer> Hue/Saturation) and apply the following properties:

Colorize: Checkmarked
Hue: 75
Saturation: 100
Lightness: -25

Click OK.


image 4 4. Add a "Selective Color Options" adjustment layer (Layer> New Adjustment Layer> Selective Color Options) and apply the following properties:

Colors: Blacks
Cyan: 0%
Magenta: 0%
Yellow: 0%
Black: +100%
Method: Relative

Click OK.


image 5 5. You should now have 3 adjustment layers and one "Background" layer.
