Correct photos taken with the subject facing behind the sun.

1. Open the image for editing. |

2. Duplicate the current layer (Ctrl+J) and add a layer mask (Layer> Add Layer Mask> Reveal All). |

3. With the layer mask selected, use the "Apply Image" tool (Image> Apply Image) to apply the following properties:

Click OK. |

4. Set the layers' blending mode to "Screen" and duplicate the layer several time until all shadows are removed. |

5. Link all of the layers except for "Background" and merge linked (Ctrl+E). |
 |
6. Select the merged layers and add a layer mask (Layer> Add Layer Mask> Reveal All). Erase the area around the subject. |

7. With the layer mask selected, use the "Apply Image" tool (Image> Apply Image) to apply the following properties:
Source: filename
Click OK. |

8. Reduce the opacity of the current layer to reduce the effect. Rollover the image in this step to see the original image before this technique was applied. |
