Increase the mood of vacation photos by making them more vivid and sunny.

1. Open the image for editing. |

2. Duplicate the current layer (Ctrl+J). |

3. With the new layer selected, use the "Hue/Saturation" tool (Ctrl+U) to apply the following properties:
Hue: 0 Saturation: 75 Lightness: 0 Click OK. |

4. Use the "Shadow/Highlight" tool (Image> Adjustment> Shadow/Highlight) on the current layer to increase the "Shadows". Select the highest amount that will reduce shadows without creating artifacts. Click OK. |

5. Add a layer mask (Layer> Add Layer Mask> Reveal All) to the current layer. |

6. With the layer mask selected, use the "Apply Image" tool (Image> Apply Image) to apply the following properties:
Source: filename
Click OK. |

7. To brighten the image, change the current layer's blending mode to "Screen". Rollover the image on the left of this step to see the original image before this technique was applied. |
