Warped Text Effect


We'll begin this tutorial, by creating a new canvas at a size of 450 x 150 then fill with c6392f. Then download this pattern to apply to the next step.

Now right click on the background layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Pattern Overlay".

You may now click OK.

You should now have the below image.

Select the "Text Tool" and use the below settings:

Now type your preferred text.

Now, double click the text layer that you just created then click the "Create Warped Text" icon in the options bar and use the below settings.

You should now have the below image.

Next, rasterize the text layer by right clicking on the text layer in the Layers Palette and choosing "Rasterize". Then go to the main menu and select "Edit" then "Free Transform". Now grab the right corner while holding in the "Ctrl" + "Shift" + "Alt" keys in on your keyboard and dragging to the right. Then release the "Ctrl" + "Shift" + "Alt" keys and drag down the bottom center square to stretch it out as I have done below.

Now right click on the text layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Gradient Overlay".

Do not click "OK" yet. Still more to do.

Now click on "Stroke".

You may now click OK.

You should now have the below image.

Next, "Ctrl" click the text layer to create a selection. Now go to "Selection" then "Modify" then "Expand" by 5 pixels. Create a new layer and place below the text layer in the layers palette. Fill with a Black. Your image should now look like the below image. Deselect the selection. Name this layer "Text Background".

Then, while on the "Text Background" layer in the Layers Palette, hold in the "Alt" key on your keyboard and press the down arrow 8-9 times.

Select the "Text Tool" and use the below settings:

Now type your preferred text.

Now right click on the text layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Stroke".

You may now click OK.

You should now have the below image.

Now grab the "Rectangular Marquee Tool" and make the following selection. Create a new layer and drag below the text layers in the Layers Palette and fill with Black. Then deselect the selection.
