1. Create a new document.

First of all create a new document, use any regular banner size (I've used 530x140)

Download this 3D render and open it in Photoshop, now copy it into the new document.

2. Duplicate the render

With the Single Column Marquee Tool image 2 do some pixel-streching to the render.

image 3

Duplicate the main render, apply Filter > Brush Strokes > Spatter with any old settings, set the layer mode to Lighten and erase a few parts with a soft brush.

image 4

Duplicate the render again, move it up to the right a bit and set the layer mode to Darken

image 5

Pixel stretch a part of the document again to the right

image 6

To bring out the detail a bit apply Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen

This is what it would look like if you applied Spatter to the pixel stretched layer and stretched it again

3. More details

Duplicate the render layer again and set the layer mode to Lighten

image 9

Stretch a part again and maybe use the Dodge tool to lighten up a part or two
