This magic creature is a result of dog and goat combining:

This is my goat Verba:

We should follow the main photo montage rules to combine these animals: find appropriate pictures with the same angle and light level. Also we should choose animals with pretty much the same hair color and structure.

Mkay, open your pictures with animals in Adobe Photoshop. As always, you can use mine. Let's start with Verba:

image 3

First we should select her head. Take Quick Mask by clicking on it's icon or by pressing Q on the keyboard.

image 5

Select her head accurately. Don't forget to change your brush size when needed.

image 6

Press Q to exit the Quick Mask mode:

image 7

In the upper menu go to Edit-Copy. Now open dog's picture and paste goat's head there: Edit-Paste:

image 8

Press Ctrl+T and move the goat's head. If you want to change it's size, in the upper menu press on the Maintain Aspect Ratio button and change it's size the way you want.

image 9

When you'll finish with it, hit Enter.

image 10

See these pieces of grass left on the goat's neck? Let's get rid of them. Take Clone Stamp tool image 11 Hold Alt on your keyboard and left click on the nearest area of goat's hair to pick up a sample hair:

Choose soft middle size tool:

image 13

And simply brush over the grass pieces:

image 14

See that goat's head is a little bit transparent? Let's fix it. Press Ctrl+J to create a duplicate layer via cut. Verba's head is ok now:

image 15

Let's combine two layers with goat's head into one. Hold Shift on the keyboard and choose both layers in the layers window. If this window is closed, press F7. Then right click on the selected layers and choose Merge Layers:

image 16

Now we have only one layer with goat's head:

image 17

Now click on the layer with the dog to activate it:

image 18

Now we are going to hide some areas of the dogs head which are visible behind the goat's head. Take Clone Stamp tool image 11

press Alt on your keyboard and left click on the grass close to goat's head:

image 20

And paint over unwanted areas:

image 21

Let's get back to goat's head layer. Lower it's opacity to make our photo montage more comfortable:

image 22

Now take Eraser tool image 23 . Use middle size soft brush:

image 13

Go ahead and erase unwanted areas of the neck:

image 25

Set opacity back to 100%:

image 26

Let's get back to layer with dog. We are going to restore dog-collar. Take Clone Stamp tool image 11 , hold Alt on the keyboard and click on the blue part of the dog-collar:

image 28

Now paint and restore the part of the dog-collar. Do the same thing and restore a small area with grass:

image 29

Switch to the layer with goat's head. Choose Eraser tool image 23 and erase extra part of goat's head:

image 31

No we are going to match colors:

image 32

You can use different ways to do that. If the colors of dog and goat are pretty much the same (like in my case), choose Image-Adjustments-Auto Color (or press Shift+Ctrl+B):

image 33

Other popular ways to change colors: Image-Adjustments-Hue/Saturation; Image-Adjustments-Curves; Image-Adjustments-Color Balance.

Take Blur tool tool image 34

In the upper menu check Sample All Layers:

image 35

And blur some areas:
