SFX Files are Basically the different effects you can get in SWiSH, eg. Wave, Explode, Snake etc.
Some examples of SFX effects can be found in the 'Submit Files' Section.
Now, a cool feature of SWiSH is you can edit a current effect and If you like it, save it as a new effect, eg. My_cool_effect.
And this tutorial will teach you how.
1. If you want to make a new Explode effect you start by adding an explode effect to any text/object/picture, If you want to make a new Wave effect to add a wave effect to the text/object/picture etc.
2. As you well know, a little box will pop-up with the properties of the effect you are using, and you will see lots of little check boxes and input fields.
3. This is the fun part!
What you want to do is just go through all the input fields and checkboxes and enter lots of digits, minus digits and check some checkboxes.
Basically scramble things about!
Tip: You can preview what you have created every now and again by clicking the little button with and arrow pointing > that way and in green letters the word 'fx' Next to the stop button at the top right corner of the box.
4. When you are satisfied with your new creation you need to save it.
5. At the top of the box will be a Text input field called 'Name' And should have the name of the effect you started with, eg. Snake for a snake effect. etc.
Here you must enter the name you wish to call you new SFX effect, in this example we will call it 'SFX_1'.
6. Once named click on the little button next to the 'Name' Field that looks like a floppy disk.
...Your SFX effect is now saved.
You will see that the settings box will now read '(Your chosen name) Settings'.
Now when you come back to SWiSH you can easily locate it by clicking the downwards arrow next to the 'Name' field, and selecting it from the list.
How to locate your SFX effect on your h/d:
- Open my Computer.
- Select Your H/D (hard drive).
- Select Program Files.
- Find folder named SWiSH v2.0
- Open the folder and select which ever category you created your SFX effect in.
- Find you SFX file.
Good luck!
