Magnific Light Effects in Photoshop

1. Create a new document with the dimension 800*600 pixels. Double click on the background layer to unlock it, open the Layer style window and put the settings from the next image for Gradient Overlay.

2. Open an image with a person in Photoshop and use Pen Tool to select that person. When you finish press Ctrl + Enter to transform the path you created intro a selection. Use Move Tool to put the selection intro the document we created at the first step.

3. Go to Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast and use the settings from the next image.

4. Create a new layer (Ctrl+Shift+N), then press Ctrl+G to put the layer inside a folder. Set the blend mode for the group to Color Dodge, change its name to lights and place it under the person`s layer. We are going to put all the lights layers inside this folder.

5. Now we are going to create a sparkles effect using Brush Engine. Go to Window > Brushes and use the settings from the next image.

6. Set the foreground color to white, and start painting with this brush on the layer inside the folder. You can use different sizes for the brush.

7. Use Photoshop actions to create lines like those from the next image, or download this vectors. Remember that you have to use white color on every layer inside the folder.

8. Create a new layer inside the folder, select Brush Tool, choose a brush with the size 1 pixel and draw some vertical and horizontal lines. Go to Filter > Blur > Radial Blur, and use the settings from the next image. Duplicate the layer two or three times and use Move Tool to place the layers in different parts of the image.

9. Create a new layer outside the folder. Select Lasso Tool, set the Feather to 15% and make a selection. Press D to reset the colors to black and white, and go to Filter > Render Clouds. Set the blend mode for this layer to Soft Light.
