1. Create a new 400x400 pixel document and name it Text Path. Now press D and then X and fill the layer with white. Name this layer 'background'. Make a new layer name it 'Path', then select the freeform pen tool and drag a path (curved line) similar to mine. Your layers should look something like this:
2. Now, select the horizontal type tool. Then move the cursor over the path you just created, and you will notice the type cursor icon to change as shown below:
Now, press D to reset background and foreground colors. Select a font, and size if you please, then click the type tool on the curve, where you wish to start typing. Now look at the image to the left, the 'x' on the path marks where you clicked to start typing, and the 'o' represents the end of the path. Once you are done typing, click on the checkmark at the top right of the screen.
3. There you have it. When you save your image as a jpg or another image type, the path will not show, it's only visible within adobe photoshop. For some extra help, your layers window should look like this:
