Add colour to black and white photographs.

1. Open the image for editing. |

2. Create a new "Solid Color" fill layer (Layer> New Fill Layer> Solid Color). Select a colour you wish to paint with. For this step, I've chosen a blue for the water. The colours you select do not have to be absolutely correct because you will be tuning the colours later. Set the layer's blending mode to "Color". |

3. Use the "Eraser" tool (E) to erase all the areas around the areas of tha tcolour. |

4. Repeat step 2 and 3 for all the objects in the photo. |

5. Double-click on each layer to tune the colours. |

6. Rollover the image in this step to see the original image before this technique was applied. |
