2. Now, select the Rounded Rectangle tool from the tool bar:
3. Select a dark version of the background color for your foreground color. Make a shape similar to the one depicted below:
4. Rasterize this layer. Now using the pen tool, make a glassy curve over the top half of your interface button which starts at the half point on the left, and curves up to the right. Make sure that this glassy curve is in a layer above the rounded rectangle.
5. Now, while holding control, click the layer containing your rounded rectangle shape (the one we made in step 3). It will select the shape alone. Inverse this selection (Select > Inverse). Now cut out the surrounding glassy curve (Ctrl + x).
6. You can edit your glassy curves opacity settings until you find a look you like for the reflection. Now lets add some finer details. Select the dodge tool, and using a fine brush (5-10px) brush around the upper edges (especially the corners) to make it appear more 3D):
7. Now add some pixel text. If you don't have any pixel fonts, try dafont.com!
8. Add an outer glow to the text:
Perfect! Now play around with yours until you get some results that are good for your design!
Other colors:
