Primarily aimed at teens, the product's website presence features a cursor mask that resembles a doodling hand. That's right; as you move your mouse you'll scrawl and scribble your way through web pages. And if this fails to amuse you, the Artworks style site offers Flash animated video segments of teens who describe Fly Pentop's functions. DeviantArt is a good example of a website portal: it boasts a minimalist interface which is simple and light, keeping access to content first. For these reasons Web Design Library awarded it Usability of the Month.

Lana Landis bids you enter her website through a Retro style interface featuring a child's View-Master toy, where her sultry pinups are visible as pop-ups only when you click on the toy's handle. It's Victorian stereoscopes with a wicked 1970s twist. The basic technique of creating stereoscopic images consists of converting 2D images into 3D ones. We at Web Design Library are glad that Landis fails to fully implement three-dimensional imaging on her website; otherwise, a visitor could get injured on one of her points or curves.

This attractive 3D-Style site looks like a popular family board game, where you throw the dice. But in fact, this is no more than an original way of presenting an online web design portfolio. Like any board game interface, this one has a previously mapped and drawn surface with pieces that move. Flash technology, no less, is instrumental animating the figures who stroll round the board at your behest. Conservative yet commercially adept, the author of this site has created a winning design and we at WDL salute him.

Cloud King features a well-designed, narrowly marketed online art gallery where artists can see and be seen. It is a quirky, colorful little CSS site that scores high in usability and content. Markup here is XHTML1, CSS1, and underlying HTML, which enables old browsers to access its pages easily and quickly. Like all Usability of the Month sites, it places equal importance on front-end design as well as on markup coding.
