1. Open or create a new object in Cinema 4d. The process of rendering larger files can take quite a while when rotating, keep this in mind. If you do not have something made already, go to objects > primitive > Pyramid:
2. Now apply any materials you want to your pyramid. If you don't have any, you can download some from our downloads page, but this step isn't that important if you don't have any materials:
3. Now add a floor (this step is not that important either, but if your using a primitive object like me, it will show off reflections and shadows better), do this by going to Objects > Scene > Floor:
Press F5 for the 4 view ports, and move the floor below your pyramid:
Add a material if you want:
4. Now add a light to your scene (Objects > Scene > Light):
5. Move your light so that it is above and to the right of your object:
If you want, you can add more lights to your scene from different directions
6. Now we need to turn on auto key-framing. To do this, click the button highlighted below:
7. If your a flash user, you may already know what this is. This feature will keep track of when and how your scene changes. For example, on scene one, your scene is stationary. In scene 90, we will make the pyramid rotate 359.9*. Auto Keyframing will keep track of this, and will make each individual frame of the pyramid rotating from 1-90. Don't get it? Ill show you! Press F1 to return to your 1 view port view:
8. Now select your pyramid (click it):
9. Near the bottom of cinema 4D, there is an animation bar. It looks like this:
Drag the blue bar that says 0 F to 90 F. This is the 90th frame in your animation:
10. Now, enter the following in your pyramids attributes located under the animation bar and right of the materials manager:
11. Your pyramid will now rotate 359.9 degrees in 90 frames. Before we can see this, we need to export it! Go to Render > Render Settings:
12. Set it up as follows:
13. Go to render > Render to picture viewer:
And now just wait for it to render all 90 frames! Easy as that. When its done, it will render to the folder you specified.
Good Luck!
