A Little Window

I've had a few people ask me for a tutorial on the numbered windows that you see in between each step on the tutorial pages, so here it is. Such a small graphic yet one of my longer tutorials.

Here goes...We can begin by selecting the "Rounded Rectangle Tool" and with a radius of 50 draw out the below shape.

Next we will need to move some anchor points. To do this select the "Direct Selection Tool" and select the anchor point on the top left as I have done below. Now, using the arrow keys on your keyboard, move that anchor point to the left nine times as illustrated below. Do this to all four corners.

Now we will create more anchor points to the shape. Select the "Add Anchor Point Tool" and place a new anchor in the middle of all four sides and move them as described above.

Now right click the new shape layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Inner Shadow".

Do not click "OK" as of yet. Still more to do.

Now right click the globe layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Outer Glow".

Do not click "OK" as of yet. Still more to do.

Now right click the globe layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Bevel and Emboss".

Do not click "OK" as of yet. Still more to do.

Now right click the globe layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Color Overlay".

Do not click "OK" as of yet. Still more to do.

Now right click the globe layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Gradient Overlay".

You may now click "OK."

You should now have the following:

Now select the "Rounded Rectangle Tool" again and with a radius of 40 draw out the below shape. Make certain that the foreground color is 484747.

Now right click the new shape layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Drop Shadow".

Do not click "OK" as of yet. Still more to do.

Now right click the globe layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Inner Glow".

Do not click "OK" as of yet. Still more to do.

Now right click the globe layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Stroke".

You may now click "OK."

You should now have the following:

Now select the "Rounded Rectangle Tool" again and with a radius of 15 draw out the below shape. Make certain that the foreground color is 636363.

Now right click the new shape layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Drop Shadow".

Do not click "OK" as of yet. Still more to do.

Now right click the globe layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Inner Glow".

Do not click "OK" as of yet. Still more to do.

Now right click the globe layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Stroke".

You may now click "OK."

You should now have the following:

Now select the "Rounded Rectangle Tool" again and with a radius of 15 draw out the below shape. Make certain that the foreground color is D5D5D6.

Now right click the shape layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Drop Shadow".

Do not click "OK" as of yet. Still more to do.

Now right click the globe layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Outer Glow".

Do not click "OK" as of yet. Still more to do.

Now right click the globe layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Inner Glow".

You should now have the following:
