Bright Light Rays in a Galaxy Image

In this tutorial I am going to show the use of feather tools to create sort of rays.

So lets start with image

1. Use Filter > Add Noise as shown.

2. Now use Lasso tool create a ray.

3. Now use Marquee tool > Right click > Feather and enter 2px and press ok.

4. Use layer 7 and select Gradient tool to fill color ( # FF7200, # EEFA00 ).

5. Create more shape using color ( # FEFA00, #923718 ) .

6. Repeating the steps from above create more shapes like shown below.

7. Fill colors using Gradient tool ( #96ADDF, #E388B4, #F0ECCA, #C9C5C4 ).

8. Create couple of more such shapes across the image.

9. Use Gradient tool to fill color #EFD079, #FFFAFE, #FFF450, #EA8E11 ).

10. Repeat above steps.

12. Again same steps as defined above. Use Lasso tool again to create the shape. Use Marquee to land right click > then Feather 3pixel radius.

13. Fill color ( #FCFAFB, #CBB1BC ).

14. One more shape, just as described above. The point is you can make it as pretty as you want the possibilities are limited to your imagination.

15. Fill color ( #F5F6E8, #FFF46E, #FBFF49 ).

16. Copy Layer 13

17. Then press ( Ctrl + T ) and using mouse rotate the ray.

18. Create one more ray of light using lasso tool.
