The display text have to be under the last layer you did. First of all you need the font LiquidCrystal and you can download it from Spacefonts(http://spacefonts.8m.com/font6.htm). Use this font to write the numbers. I'm not doing it exactly his way but there are no big differences. For you who think I'm ripping him here, I can tell you that I've asked him. Pretty boring CD-player without a LCD, don't you think? :)
First of all place two eights to the left and four eights to the right with a colon in between (see above). Blend Mode - soft light and fill opacity - 50 %. Duplicate the layer and change the Blend Mode back to normal and the fill opacity to 70 %. Now you write the numbers you want. The text "bass boost" is done in the same way. The figures above are made in the same way. For these I used the font Webdings. To help you out I used following numbers and letter: 97;<48:. You may have to use the characterpalett to change a bit. The dice is just a dice that I made and then used the same technique as before.
The last thing is the buttons. No problems here. Start to use the Ellipse Tool (
) and draw a circle. Use Shape layer mode (
). Black as foreground color. Add a small Bevel and Emboss - outer bevel. Fill opacity - 75 %. Duplicate the layer and change the Fill opacity to 100 %. Change the Bevel and Emboss to Inner bevel on the new layer. The reason for doing this is that you want both outer and inner bevel.
Next step is to make a new layer and fill it with medium grey. Go to Filter>>Noise>>Add Noise. Use lightgrey and darkgrey as fore- and background colors. The amount shall be around 4 %, gaussian and monochromatic. When your ready press Ctrl+G to group with previous (the one with Inner bevel).
Do this a couple of time to make more buttons or duplicate the different button layers. Use Webdings again and put the figures on top of the buttons. Use grey as foregroundcolor and add an Inner shadow. Reduce the fill opacity to about 10-20%. You see when it's ok.
The last thing I did was to put my own logo there (I'm egocentric), made a X-logo and put some text to spice it up. Are there any questions - mail me.
