Computer Speakers

Step 1 - The first step.

Open up a new document 400 by 400. Color the background 333333. Then create a new layer by going to layer/create new layer. Leave the name it has. Ok After youve done that grab the Rectangle Tool. Make sure its on these settings.

Step 2 - Then Draw.

OK now I want you to draw a box. Draw it about the size of what you want your speaker to be. This is what I came up with.

Step 3 - the next step.

Now grab the add an anchor point tool. Drag it across the box. This will help us edit the box into a more speaker looking shape. Ok now once you done this, make the corners a little bit round, and the sides a little circly.

Step 4 - Go to paths and so on.

OK now go to paths and color in this layer. You can delete the path. Now what we want to do with this layer is give it a nice color. I chose C6C6C6. To color it go to layer/layer style/blending options/color overlay. Now once you have this I want you to duplicate this layer. You can press ctrl, alt and the arrow up to duplicate it. Then press the arrow down once to move it back into position. Now make the color of this 6F6F6F, later we will turn it into a gradient. Now go to edit/transform/scale and make the top layer fit into the first layer. You should have something like this.

Step 5 - Make it a gradient.

Ok now lets make this layer a gradient. Go to blending options again, and go to gradient then give it this settings.

Step 6 - Now duplicate that.

Duplicate this layer. Now go back to the scale and make it slitley smaller then this one. Now what your gonna do is take the eliptical marquee tool and slice it from the top down leavin just a little gradient on top. Do the same thing with the first layer. Give it a slight color change and cut it. This makes good for a shadow. This is what you should have.

Step 7 - Back to baby steps.

OK now go back to layer one again. Duplicate it and make it slightly smaller so it fits inside. Then give it a light gradient so there is only a small differnce. Use the colors. So far this is what you have.

Step 8 - the next step is??

No create a new layer on top of every other layer. Now create a small circle in the light greyish spot in the middle not to small not to big though. Color it in what ever because were adding a gradient to it. The gradient colors are 939393 and  9F9F9F. You should have something like this so far.

Step 9 - ok now almsot done.

Ok now create another circle in that circle. Make it smaller so it fits inside it. Make it the color 767676. Also give it a one pixle stroke with the color 808080. Make sure this cirlce is straight in the middle of the circle its in. If it is about five to ten times depending on what looks the best press ctrl, alt and the arrow down. Keep pressing this until it looks really 3d and nice. This is what I got so far.

Step 10 - Last Step is your Step.

Ok Iv decided the last step is your step. You got the main speaker done and ready to go. All you need to do is add a little more effects to it and your done. Make it your own and have fun with it, good luck. This is what I came up with. I had a little fun with it.
