Drawing a Grunge Ink Stamp

Here’s what you will get:

1. Create a new document with the size 640x480 pixels and fill it with white.

2. Select Type tool (T).

3. Set Arial Black font and type the text you wish. Type it all in caps.

4. Create new layer (Ctrl+Shift+N), select Rectangular Marquee tool (M) and make a selection just about 30 pixels away from the text as it is shown on the screenshot:

5. Right mouse button click anywhere inside the selection and, click on 'Stroke'. Apply the following settings:

6. Merge background and text layers (Ctrl + E).

7. Now its time to make it grunge! Download some grunge scratch brushes and install them. Select Eraser tool (E). Using provided brushes start to brush up your image by erasing it! But don't erase too much - leave enough text so that it will stay easy to read but look grungey.

8. Rotate a bit your stamp (Ctrl+T).

9. The final step –duplicate the layer (Ctrl+J) and set Blending Mode to Soft Light.

Tutorial is finished. Now you can use this stamp as a logo, brush, pattern or anything of your imagination!
