Learn to make these smooth curvy strokes

01. Begin with a 300x300 document with a black background.

02. Select your pen tool. We will be using the pen tool to create a path. At the toolbar at the top, you should see three small icons, one is a square with boxes at the corners, one is a square with a pen in it, and the other one is just a square. Select the one with the pen in it ("Path"). Click where you want the path to begin.

03. Now click where you want the first curve of your path to end, and don't let go! With the mouse button held down, drag away from the point you held down to create the curve. Once you are satisfied with the curve, let go of the mouse button.

04. Next, click where you want your path to end; another curve will be formed.

05. Now select your brush tool. Go to the brushes palette. Window --> Brushes (F5). Set your brush diameter at 10, and use the following 'Shape Dynamics" settings: Control: "Fade", 300, leave everything else at it's default.

06. Select your pen tool again. Right click on the document, and select 'Stroke Path'. For 'Tool:', choose 'Brush'. You can choose to check or uncheck 'Simulate Pressure,' both yield varying results.

07. Now right click, and select 'Delete Path.'
