image 1 16. Invert  the current layer (Ctrl+I).
image 2 17. Change the blending mode to Multiply.
image 3 18. Desaturate (Shift+Ctrl+U).
image 4 19. Use the Brightness/Contrast tool (Image> Adjustments> Brightness/Contrast to set the Contrast to +80.
image 5 20. Use the Hue/Saturation tool (Ctrl+U) to colorize the image. These are the settings I used for this step:

Colorize: Checked
Hue: 0
Saturaiton: 100
Lightness: +25
