1. Start with a small new document 100 x 100.
2. Draw this outline as shown here. It is the basis of the body and will take a few attempts to get perfect. If it helps, make 2 separate layers and draw the top of the body from torso up and the legs separately, then merge them, though i just drew it straight.
3. Now that the body is drawn, grab the fill tool (hotkeys G) and fill the lady with any colors you want. I chose white and red, you don't need to but can for tutorial purposes.
4. The shoes/feet should be small compared to the man's feet. Don't let any overlap from the right left foot come onto the right or it will mess up your perspective.
5. Here's where you define the more "womanly" part of her; shade the stomach darker so that the chest appears higher. Follow my shading guidelines to make it look similar.
6. Add highlights to the hair and skin to show the light direction. Don't forget the hands!
7. Shade the pants like i have. Note again the darker shades are kept near the stomach and smooth out later to brighter colors. She's not made of wood so it isn't going to be all one straight line.
8. The arrow here indicates the light source to help make the shadow.
9. My shadow is not that great, but it is what you would expect to see from where the light source should be. Keep the shadows simple, don't recreate the person in a shade of grey on the floor. Only a close up, blazing, straight on light would give that effect, and its not too desirable.
10. Go ahead and erase the arrow or if you made it on a separate layer, hide/delete it. This concludes the hard parts, now for the variations.
You can now make a separate layer above the main drawing layer and make various hair styles or clothes changes. Do this to add lots of variation to your drawings, as it makes a crowd of people look more diverse.
