We will be turning this signature

Into this

Enhance Elements Tutorial: Final Result

Step One

Open up your signature. This can be any signature you want. Now, find out where you want to fade out, for my signature, I chose to fade out the left and right sides. By fade out, I mean lower the hue on them.

Now, above all the layers you want to lower the saturation on, make a new layer. Take out our Lasso Marquee Tool. At the top of the screen set the feather option to about 10px.

Now make a quick selection around where you want to fade out like so. Be sure that after you finish, you repeatedly go over the edges of your signature, in order to completely fill the outside box.

Your selection should look like this.

Step Two

Now, Press D to reset your colors. Now press Alt-Backspace in order to fill our selection. Looks kind of ugly now doesn't it? Simply change the layer blending option to Hue, in order to fade out the edges. You should now have something like this. (note, you can duplicate the layer to make it appear darker)

Step Three

Now, this looks neat, but our signature still looks a tad bland. What more could we do? How about enhancing the center of our images colors? This will help it and make it look a bit more pretty and shiny.

Go back to the layer where we put our black hue on. Ctrl+Click On The Layer in order to select our previous selection. Now Select Any Marquee Tool and Right Click our selection. Then select Inverse Selection. The inside of our signature should now be selected. Right Click our selection again, and add a Feather this time.

Now, For the moment being turn off the visibility on our black hue layer(s). Go down to the layer you colored with. Duplicate that using your selected area by pressing Ctrl+J with your selection still visible. This should duplicate it. Move that to the top, but underneath our black hue layers.

Step Four

Alright, now everything looks the same. So go to Filter->Blur->Gaussian Blur and selected a small number like 1.1-1.7 or so at the most. Only do this if your coloring layer is not already blurred. Otherwise ignore this paragraph.

Now, simply change the blending option on that layer to overlay. Our colors have instantly become more enhanced, and have doubled in intensity!

Now turn our black hue layers back on

Et voila! Your signature is complete!
