That is essentially what the end product should look like, if you use my settings for exact...

1. To begin, you need to made a shape like this. So open up a new document, with all the default settings; except for the size which should be 500x500, or whatever you feel your button will fit inside.

2. Start by creating a perfect circle selection, using the elliptical marquee tool.

3. Make sure view -> snap is checked.

4. Turn on rulers using Control+R.

5. Drag a horizontal ruler to the top and bottom of your selection.(Do this by clicking and dragging on the rulers on the top and side of your document.)

6. Drag a vertical and horizontal ruler through the center of your selection.

7. While the elliptical marquee tool is still out, drag the selection to the right, the distance you drag it should be so that the length between where the selection is and used to be, should equal the size of your button. For a further explanation, look down to the next picture.

If you want a rather large button, that's about how far you should drag the selection.

8. Drag a vertical ruler through the center of the selection.

9. Hold shift and hold the left mouse button down when the mouse is at the intersection of the middle horizontal guide, and the vertical guide on the left.

10. While holding the left mouse button, repress and hold down shift and hold down alt drag the selection until it intersects with the top and bottom guide. Your selection should now look like this:

Your image is done, but if you don't want to enter in the styles again if you ever repeat this technique, Click the style tab, and then click inside the tranish area. Next time you want to apply this style, just click the new style tab that you just created.
