1. Create a new 500x500 pixel document with a resolution of 100 and name it Crystal. Now press D and fill the document (with Black). Now create a new layer, then select the polygonal lasso tool and create a shape similar to one in the picture to the right. Fill it with a cyan blue. Keep the Selection.

2. Now emboss the selection using the following settings [Angle: 165° Height: 75px and Amount: 68%].

3. You can get rid of the ugly colors by, creating a new layer and filling it with a medium blue color of your choice. Remember you still have not deselected the outline of the crystals. Then set that layers blending mode to 'Color'.

4. Next, you copy the layer and rotate it about 20° clockwise. Then change the layers opacity to about 50%. Then copy the origional crystal layer and instead, rotate it about 20° counter-clockwise and change this layers opacity to about 40%.

5. Now use the dodge tool and select midtones or highlights and the exposure to about 50%. Now run it along the lines of the crystals, so it looks real. You are doing each of the 3 layers seperately. Then the rest is up to your imagination.
