1. Create a new 500x500 document, and fill it with some sort of grey colour. #999999 will do nicely.
2. Now, grab your Rectangular Marquee tool and draw up a rectangle that is the full height of the document and has a bit of width.
3. Create a new layer on top of your existing background layer.
4. Next fill it with some colour. Any will do but I am using a certain shade of green, #009900.
5. Now using your Burn Tool, burn both edges of your tube. You can hold shift whilst moving up and down vertically to give an even burn effect.
6. Next select your Dodge tool with a size 27 soft round brush (or similar), and shine up the center of your tube. Once again hold down shift and make one single stroke down the center. Reapply shine if necessary!
7. Next use Filter > Distort > Shear to give your tube some shape. Something similar to mine will do or experiment!
8. Finally you can add a simple drop shadow to give your tube more of a 3d effect. Here is my final, hope you learnt some new tricks!
