Step 1

First get a photo of the phone and paste it onto a new document.

image 1

Step 2

Grab your pen tool and make an outline of the whole phone. Fill it in with any color. In this tutorial I am going to fill each outline I make with a different color so you can see more clearly. All of the outlines are on their own layer.

image 2

Step 3

Hide this outline. Create a new layer and make an outline of the screen and the keypad.

image 3

Step 4

Notice how the side of the phone has different shades of color. Outline these two shades(the white and the dark areas).

image 4

Step 5

Now we're going to create our keypad. Make a new layer. Goto the pencil tool and select a 1px #000000 pencil. Make a shape as seen in the picture. Draw it pixel by pixel.

image 5

Step 6

Duplicate this 4 times and reflect all the duplicates over the x-axis. Position the duplicates evenly between each other, but a little more further apart from the original.

image 6

Step 7

Next add the numbers to their relative position. You can go ahead and add the power on and off circles as well. I made them by simply making a circle and drawing a small line from the bottom to the middle.

image 7

Step 8

Put all the keypad stuff(except the outline) in a folder. Duplicate this folder and hide the original. We do this so if we mess up we have a backup. Now make visible the photograph of the phone. Goto the duplicated folder with all the interface layers and press Ctrl+T. Scale it so it matches the phone's interface.

image 8

Step 9

Next hide the photo and make visible all of your outlines. Make sure the main outline(the one in step 2) is behind all the layers. Make sure the interface we just made is in front of all the layers.

image 9

Step 10

Double click the interface outline(the red one in my picture) to get to its layer style and apply a gradient overlay. Change the color to #333333 and the Style to reflected. Accept all the other default settings.

image 10

Step 11

Now goto your keypad folder and double click the layer with the line/shape that we drew. The one we used to separate our numbers. Give them all a color overlay of #b1b1b1.

image 11

Step 12

Go back to the outlines. Double click the screen layer and give it a color overlay of #333333.

image 12

Step 13

Double click the main outline to get to its layer style and give it a gradient overlay. Change the colors to #000000 and #555555. #000000 should be at the bottom and #555555 should be on top of the phone. The angle should already be 90.

image 13

Step 14

Now give the left most side outline a color overlay of #000000. The right side outline should be given a linear gradient overlay of #000000 and #848484. Make sure #848484 is on top.

image 14

Step 15

Next go back to the screen outline and duplicate it. Scale it down until it fits evenly in the original screen. Give it a gradient overlay of #333333 and #848484. #333333 should match the color of the original screen's background. If it doesn't, change this color to whatever you set the screen's color to.

image 15

Step 16

All we need to do now is to make a click wheel in the keypad. Make a new layer and create a circle. Fill it with a dark color. I chose #333333. Duplicate this circle and scale it down by 1 or 2 pixels. Place it right in the middle of the original circle. Give it a reflected gradient overlay with colors #d4d4d4 and #585858. In the reflected overlay, the darker colors need to be on the top and bottom while the whiter color is in the middle. Adjust your angle to show that.

image 16

Step 17

Make a new layer and draw in an arrow. Reduce the opacity of this layer to 50%. Duplicate this layer 4 times and place them around the click wheel. Finally just add whatever you want on the phone and you're done.
