Step 1 - Open Your Canvas
Open a new document 500x500 with a black background and create a new layer. To do that navigate your mouse up to the toolbar and click ''Layer>New>Layer..." in the name field type "Square" and click on the "Ok".
Step 2 - Make Your Selection
Make a square in the middle and using the "Paint Bucket Tool" fill it with white (#FFFFFF). Zoom in now if you have to and using the "Polygonal Lasso Tool" make a selection like this one.
Step 3 - Fill It In
Fill this selection in with "#729E09", right click on your layer and click "Deselect". Your document should look like this.
Step 4 - Select The Polygonal Tool
Make a new layer and name it "Star". Time to add the star! Look to the left at the "Tools" bar and select the "Polygon Tool" on the bottom right.
Step 5 - Change Your Settings
In the top bar do the following. Where it says "Sides:" type "5" Now click on the arrow pointing downwards next to the blob looking object and make your settings match these.
Step 6 - Add The Star
Now change your foreground color to "#C5EC5B" and click in the center of the square on the middle line and holding down the left mouse button drag upwards until you have an outline of a star filling the square.
Step 7 - Delete The Excess
Right click on your layer and click "Rasterize Layer". Hold down the "CTRL" key on your keyboard and click on your layer in the layer box. Now we are going to delete the middle out of the star. To do that click "Select>Modify>Contract" type "3" in the box and click "Ok". Now press "Delete" on your keyboard. You'll now come up with the following.
Step 8 - Overlay
Make a new layer and call it "Overlay". Now make a selection (on this same layer) like this using the "Polygonal Lasso Tool". Fill the selection in with "#729E09". Here's a preview.
Step 9 - Select The Star
Here is where it gets tricky, make sure your new layer (Overlay) is still selected and highlighted, hold down your "CTRL" key on your keyboard and click the layer entitled "Star". Hopefully your image looks like this.
Step 10 - Finished!
We're going to remove the excess color, do this. Up top in the toolbar click "Select>Inverse" and then hit the "Delete" key on your keyboard. There! The logo is done! You can add some text now and then size it down to your website size.
