Create a new file (File>New) with 1024x768 px and 72 dpi and select for it the Paint Bucket Tool (G) to paint the file in black color.

Apply also for this layer the next option: Filter>Noise>Add Noise

Make a copy of the new made layer and change Blending Mode - Multiply

Make another copy of the layer, changing the Blending Mode-Vivid light

Create a new layer and use on it the standard brush of black color to dark out the lowest part of the picture.

Select now the Ellipse Tool (U) to make the picture's surface look black and then we have to apply the Add Anchior Point Tool to insert one more top on the picture. The Convert Pont Tool may help us in correcting the element's shape.

The layer's parameters: Blending Options>Outer Glow

Next step includes selecting the Pen Tool (P) and making the first plan of the picture look entirely black. The shape may be corrected again with the Convert Pont Tool.

Find in Internet a picture representing a city.

Cut out the picture just to have only the buildings. Apply for the cut layer the parameter shown here:

Blending Options>Color Overlay, choosing also the black color.

Find in Internet the picture of the moon. Cut it out and place it the way it is demonstrated next picture.

Next make a click on the next option: Create new fill or adjustment layer>Hue/Saturation, on the layers' palette.

Press Alt button and make a mouse's click between the next layers: Hue/Saturation and the moon's layer (on the layers' palette) for the effect to be applied on the moon's layer.

Now we shall use again the Ellipse Tool (U) to represent a highlight on the picture's bottom (placing the layer lower than layers containing the surface and the buildings).

The layer's parameter: Blending Options>Outer Glow

Using the last instrument, we must represent now the primary layer of the falling meteorite.

The layer's parameters: Fill 0%

Blending Options>Inner Shadow

Blending Options>Gradient Overlay

Gradient's parameters:

Select the same tool Ellipse Tool (U) to represent the meteorite's body, having white color.

The layer's parameters: Blending Options>Outer Glow

Next select the Rectangle Tool (U) to represent the meteorite's train in white color.

The layer's parameters: Fill 50%

For a better result we have to combine in a group all the layers composing the meteorite (press on Ctrl button to mark out the necessary layers and click on the left mouse's button to take the marked layers down on Create a new group option). Make three copies of the last made group and select the Free Transform option to change the copies' sizes and the meteorites' layers' dimensions.

Using the Rectangle Tool (U), try to represent a layer reserved for the sky, having the white color. The layer must be placed lower than the city's layer and the landscape's surface.

Make a mouse's click on Add a Mask option on the layers' palette and select the filter's option: Filter>Render>Clouds

Gradient's parameters:

Make a copy of the last made layer and change the parameters of the copied layer.

The layer's parameters: Fill 0%

Make a copy of the last made layer and move off the parameter indicated next:

Change Blending mode-Normal on Overlay
