Unique Signature

This tutorial will teach you how to create a Unique Signature, using simple techniques.

Step One

Open up Adobe Photoshop, and click File > New . Use the settings below:

Step Two

Paste the render you will be using into the newly created document.

I'll be using this render: here

Step Three

Resize the render and position it correctly. Select a few colors from the render and create a gradient background.

Step Four

Select a brush and set your smudging brush using the below settings:

Step Five

Click on your render and duplicate it about 5 times, then hide all the layers you have just created except the very bottom layer.

Set your smudging brush strength to 70% and smudge the render.

Set that layer you just smudged to the blending style: Normal.

Step Six

Click the next layer of your render (layer above) and set the strength to 80%

Then set it to Hard light

Step Seven

Smudge the next layer up again and then once your done smudging it, invert the colors (ctrl+I)

Then set it to Overlay

Step Eight

Select the layer up and set the smudge strength to 100% and just smudge small parts around the render.

Set it to Normal

Step Nine

Click the next layer up and then the next layer up after that, and then click on sharpen more

Then set it to Lighten and change the fill to 62%.

Step Ten

Now it's time to set a brightness and contrast layer. ( Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast ).

Step Eleven

Now set a levels layer ( CTRL+L )

Step Twelve

Now it looks kinda dull color wise, so lets set a color balance layer ( CTRL+B ).

I wanted my sig to feel blue and used these settings:

My result so far is:

Now I apply a border here but you can choose not to.

Step Fifteen

Then add some text with a font that fits the theme of the sig.

After adding lighting here is my final result:
