Create a new document having size about 600x600px. , you can always change it later after you've done the tutorial.
Select your Brush Tool and then open your Basic Brushes brush pack.
Select 13px brush, go to your Brushes box and click Spacing. Change it to 1%.
Now change your foreground color to #A1A1A1.
Change your background color to black.
Now your are ready to start drawing the wires.
Select your Pen Tool, and put an anchor point somewhere on your document.
Now click to place another anchor point, but dont release the mouse button.
Drag it down a bit, so it looks like this.
Now, once again, place another anchor point somewhere opposite of your first one. Just click and release this time.
Now we have our basic wire design.
With the Pen Tool still selected, right click on the wire, and then click Stroke Path.
Select Brush from the dropdown menu, and leave Stimulate Pressure UNCHECKED.
You should now have something that looks like this.
Now, go back up to your Brushes box, and load the Assorted Brushes brush pack.
Select 18px size Circle brush.
Click the Brush Tip Shape button on the left side, then change the Diameter to 13.
Now we need to do some some to prepare the wire.
Go up to Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur and change it to 3.0
Now CTRL Click on the layer with our wire on it, then go up to Filter>Render>Lighting Effects and use these settings.
(It is very important that you select Layer 1 Transparency. If you don't, it won't work.)
Now deselect your wire by pressing CTRL+D.
Press X to switch your foreground and background colors.
Select the Pen Tool once again, and right click on our wire, then click Stroke Path.
When you're done, it should look like this.
Now you can hit Enter to get rid of the Pen Tool Line.
Done! You can use wires in almost anything.
