You should end up with something like this. The layers palette explains it perfectly.

Now what you're going to do is open your layer set folder with the characters (I call them) and drag one on top of a different quarter panel in the layers palette. You will also want to moVe them in the document design to be above the actual layer position where you want them (you might not see it if you clip it and the layer you clipped into is on the opposite end of the design). To create a clipping group or mask press Ctrl G (there are two other ways) making sure that the panel is beneath the character layer where you want it.

Do this process for each of the layers moving them around when necessary. Use free transform if you need to to rotate or alter any of the layers (Ctrl T).

Yes you will have to move these layers from their party folder to above their own quarter panel.

Create a clipping mask for each; doing this 'clips' the layer into that quarter panel. Can you see why we had to create these independent layers? This technique is used throughout many genres of design. It's important for you to understand and apply (if you want to be greatly versatile).

So now that we've got each of these clubagent's clipped into their own quarterpanel, you'll want to add some more interest to their backgrounds. I mean it's OK and kinda Brady Bunch like (hmm...another idea) but it could use a lot of help.

Look through your collection (you're already winning with the clubCast portfolio with 800+ club shots included in my Photoshop Designer Package) and choose layers that will blend in as a nice background.

Flag images that would work when you are browsing and then view the Flagged files.

The new Photoshop CS file browser is excellent. Here you're looking for good party scene backgrounds that will work as a background because you're characters are in the foreground. This will add more flava.  Download some cool free PS stuff in my new site here.

If you get lost, go to the Window menu and go back to the document you were working on. You can also use Ctrl Tab Tab Tab to keep toggling through the open documents.
