1. Open or find photo of your item. (By the way, I recommend sxc.hu).
2. Make a new document (Size - A4, but i set the resolution to 72 instead of 300) and copy here your thing and hide layer with it by clicking on eye icon.
3. Make a Linear Gradient on your background layer from top to the bottom of page (I used #0b1f42 to #244686).
4. Unhide layer with item, in my work with knife and duplicate it by pressing Ctrl+J. Hide duplicated layer.
5. Place your base layer with knife as you like, make knife bigger than canvas size. Set the mode to Overlay and opacity to about 25%.
6. Unhide duplicated layer, press Ctrl+T to transform, click on chain icon to keep aspect ratio and resize the knife.
7. Open blending options of smaller knife's layer and set Drop Shadow.
8. Change also opacity of this layer to about 95%.
9. Hold Ctrl and click on a thumbnail of this layer, and create a new layer.
10. Pick up your Brush Tool and choose Soft Brush and white as a foreground color. Paint something like this on the edge.
11. Set mode to Overlay and opacity to about 90%. We have nice glowing edge now ;)
12. Write some text!
13. Select your knife layer and change Brightness and Contrast (Image -> Adjustment -> Brightness / Contrast). Set it to -35/35.
14. If you like, add more details! It's done.
