Cross Process, Add Life to Your Photos

This tutorial will teach you how to give your photos that extra punch. With regular 35mm negatives they are processed C-41 method and slides are processed E-6 ... if you processed your regular 35mm negatives like you would process slide film this si the look you would get. Now you can do it on the computer. and it will look realistic. This is great to get that editorial fashion look.

1. Open image.

2. Click on background in the layers paletter then go to Layers -> duplicate layer and name the layer cross process.

3. Next go to Image -> Adjustments -> Curves enter the following dots (0,0 & 255,255 are defaults) :

• RGB = 0,0 ; 77,54; 185,197; 255,255
• Red Channel = 0,0; 93,45,; 167,162; 255,255
• Green Channel = 0,0; 91,103; 255,211 (here u cant type 255 in the input output so drag the top of the line down u will see the numbers change)
• Blue Channel = 0,0; 95,100; 255,255

4. Go to Image -> Adjustments -> Hue/Saturation (make sure colourize is NOT checked leave hue and lightness at zero and raise saturation to 20

5. Select layer labelled cross processed and duplicate the layer (Layer -> Duplicate Layer)

6. Change the layer properties (in the layer palette) to Overlay (mode (its a dropdown in the layer palette)) and opacity to 50%

7. Hide the background layer by clicking the eye beside it in the layers palette

8. Go to Layer -> merge visible then name the layer cross processed

Its best to use brighter images ... but if your image is dark play around with the brightness b4 u do this ... hope you enjoy it. I have attached the action here ...
