Result - Doggygoat (gives milk, loves bones and secures the area %)):
This magic creature is a result of dog and goat combining:
This is my goat Verba:
We should follow the main photo montage rules to combine these animals: find appropriate pictures with the same angle and light level. Also we should choose animals with pretty much the same hair color and structure.
Mkay, open your pictures with animals in Adobe Photoshop. As always, you can use mine. Let's start with Verba:
First we should select her head. Take Quick Mask by clicking on it's icon or by pressing Q on the keyboard.
Select her head accurately. Don't forget to change your brush size when needed.
Press Q to exit the Quick Mask mode:
In the upper menu go to Edit-Copy. Now open dog's picture and paste goat's head there: Edit-Paste:
Press Ctrl+T and move the goat's head. If you want to change it's size, in the upper menu press on the Maintain Aspect Ratio button and change it's size the way you want.
When you'll finish with it, hit Enter.
See these pieces of grass left on the goat's neck? Let's get rid of them. Take Clone Stamp tool
Hold Alt on your keyboard and left click on the nearest area of goat's hair to pick up a sample hair:
Choose soft middle size tool:
And simply brush over the grass pieces:
See that goat's head is a little bit transparent? Let's fix it. Press Ctrl+J to create a duplicate layer via cut. Verba's head is ok now:
Let's combine two layers with goat's head into one. Hold Shift on the keyboard and choose both layers in the layers window. If this window is closed, press F7. Then right click on the selected layers and choose Merge Layers:
Now we have only one layer with goat's head:
Now click on the layer with the dog to activate it:
Now we are going to hide some areas of the dogs head which are visible behind the goat's head. Take Clone Stamp tool
press Alt on your keyboard and left click on the grass close to goat's head:
And paint over unwanted areas:
Let's get back to goat's head layer. Lower it's opacity to make our photo montage more comfortable:
Now take Eraser tool
. Use middle size soft brush:
Go ahead and erase unwanted areas of the neck:
Set opacity back to 100%:
Let's get back to layer with dog. We are going to restore dog-collar. Take Clone Stamp tool
, hold Alt on the keyboard and click on the blue part of the dog-collar:
Now paint and restore the part of the dog-collar. Do the same thing and restore a small area with grass:
Switch to the layer with goat's head. Choose Eraser tool
and erase extra part of goat's head:
No we are going to match colors:
You can use different ways to do that. If the colors of dog and goat are pretty much the same (like in my case), choose Image-Adjustments-Auto Color (or press Shift+Ctrl+B):
Other popular ways to change colors: Image-Adjustments-Hue/Saturation; Image-Adjustments-Curves; Image-Adjustments-Color Balance.
Take Blur tool tool
In the upper menu check Sample All Layers:
And blur some areas:
Here we go! Our new creature - doggygoat:
Have a good day!
