Photoshop
Make your photographs look like an artistic pen and watercolour painting.
1. Open the image for editing.
2. Duplicate
the layer and name the top layer "Pen" and the bottom layer "Colour". Doubleclick on the layer "Background" to change its name.
3. On the layer "Pen", apply a "Find Edges" filter (Filter> Stylize> Find Edges).
4. Using the "Hue/Saturation" tool (Ctrl+U), decrease the "Saturation" to "-100". Click OK.
5. Set
the "Brightness" and "Contrast" to "50" using the "Brightness/Contrast" tool (Image> Adjustment> Brightness/Contrast). Click OK.
6. Set the current layer's blending mode to "Multiply".
7. Select
the layer "Colour" and apply a "Median" filter (Filter> Noise> Median). Select a "Radius" that will remove all the details of the photograph. Click OK.
8. Using the "Hue/Saturation" tool, increase the "Saturation" to "50". Click OK.
9. Your
photograph now looks like an artistic painting. Try using the
"Underpainting" filter (Filter> Artistic> Underpainting) to add a canvas texture. Rollover the image on the left of this step to see the original image before this technique was applied.
