I really just made this tutorial to see how many clicks it would get, considering there's a girl in her underwear on the front page. But now that you're here, I may as well teach you a thing or two about making a professional advertisement.
We're going to put a number of different tools and techniques together to make this ad work.
Ok, so we're going to make a perfume ad. Pretty simple right? Hot girl, bottle of stuff, some words... Let's get started.
You'll need this photo of a girl
and this photo of a bottle of perfume
or if you'd like you can hunt around for your own on Google images.
First we need to cut out the perfume so that we can stick it on the ad. I like to use the pen tool to make my selections. Zoom in, and get the pen tool and begin clicking a selection around the bottle. Click to draw points, and click and drag to draw lines of influence (this helps with the curves).
Once you're all the way around, select paths (should be grouped with the layers pallete, if not, click on window > paths) then click the dotted circle at the bottom of the pallete. This will turn your path into a selection.
CTRL + C to copy the selection, then open your girl photo, and CTRL + V paste it so that it makes a new layer.
Now size it down a bit so that it just fits in the corner. You're doing such a good job.
Now let's make the whole ad pink. Create a new layer below the girl, use the eyedropper tool to select a shade of pink from the bottle, and ALT + DEL fill the layer.
