In this tutorial, you will learn how to make smoke/steam that comes out of an hamburger or any hot food product.

Step 1: Open Photoshop CS2 and load an image of an hamburger.

Step 2: Select the elliptical marquee tool (Shift + M) and create a small ellipse.

Step 3: You will now apply the feather radius. To do that, press Ctrl+Alt+D (the feather radius should be of 5 pixels.).

Step 4: Create a new layer.

Step 5: Select a grey brush and change the opacity at 76%. Then, fill the selection with grey color.

Step 6: Go in the filter menu and select distort, then wave.

Step 7: Change the Number of Generators to 3, then press OK.

Step 8: Duplicate the layer a few times and move the smoke. Then, change the opacity of the layers to 60%.
