Extracting an Object From it's Background

1. Start buy opening the image you want to extraxt. Go to Filter > Extract (Alt + Ctrl + x). Choose the Edge Highlighter Tool (B) and in the Tool Options menu set the Brush Size to 20 and check for Smart Highlightings.

Mark the edges of the areas you want to retain until it's completely outlined. Draw the highlight so it slighty ovelaps both the foreground and the background regions around the edge.

2. Now select the Fill Tool (G) and click inside the object to fill its interior. Click Ok
