It's time to test the Type Tool.

1. Create a new document (File > New...) 400 x 400 pixels; mode RGB, Contents: White.

2. From the Toolbox, select the Horizontal Type Type Tool Tool.

3. In the Options bar, define font size, style and other settings (movie).

4. Choose a color for your inscription.

5. Click there, where you want to add inscription. Type some text. It feels very much like using a regular text editor. However, for efficient work with text in Photoshop you have to understand layers.

6. While the Type Type Tool Tool is active, most Photoshop commands are not available. So once finished, press [Ctrl+Enter] keys or click on any other tool in the Toolbox to apply your typing.
