Making Flames

Open a new document. Hit D on your keyboard to reset the colours.

Go to Filter > Render > Clouds and then Image > Adjustment > Auto Level (ctrl + shift + l)

Then Filter > Distort > Polar Coordinates and set it to "Polar To Rectangular". Put some colours on the picture with Image > Adjustments > Hue/Sat

Hue: 40
Saturation: 50
Lightness: 0
Remember Colorize.

Duplicate the layer. Activate the duplicated layer and go to Hue/Sat

Hue: -35
Saturation: 0
Lightness: 0
Don't use "Colorize"!

Set the layer-mode to Soft Light and then go to Layers > Merge Down (ctrl + e). Duplicate the layer again and set layer-mode to Overlay
Finish.
