1. Create a new document and use the "Text" tool (T) to insert some text. |

2. With the "Text" tool (T) still selected, click on the "Create warped text" button in the options bar to apply the following properties:
Style: Arc
Click OK. |

3. Duplicate the text layer twice (Ctrl+J) and rename the top layer to "top", middle layer to "middle" and bottom layer to "bottom. Rasterize the layer "middle" (Layer> Rasterize> Type). |

4. Select the layer "middle" and apply a "Motion Blur" (Filters> Blur> Motion Blur). Set the "Angle" to 90º and adjust the "Distance". The "Distance" properties will define the height of the 3d translucent text. Click OK. |

5. Use the "Move" tool (V) and move the text on layer "top" till it reaches the top pixel of the layer "middle". Now move the text on layer "bottom" till it reaches the bottom pixel of the layer "middle". |

6. Create a new "Levels" adjustment layer (Layer> New Adjustment Layer> Levels) to set the following properties:
Channel: RGB
Click OK. |
