Cool, Glossy Text

I was fooling around with layer styles and I got this interesting text. When all of the other settings are done, you just have to set a color overlay to customize. Check it out!

First off, open a the PS document you'll be putting this text on. I'm using CS2 for this, but i'm sure you can do it on PS 7+.

I'm using a blank document, but you can put this on anything. Then, put your text on the document.

I used size 72 Weltron Urban for the text in that, but you can use any thick text for this tutorial. I suggest you do not use Weltron as the noise dots inside the text spoil the effect, but it turns out great for say, clan logos.

Note: If you would rather load the layer style of the text, there is a link to it at the bottom of the tutorial. This can save you time.

Next, select your layer, and click on the little 'f' on the layer dialogue. This opens up layer styles. Apply the following layer styles:

Now you should have a wierd-gradient, bad looking text effect. Have no fears! Just add this final layer style, and edit the color to your preference (bright colors work better, but not to bright)

Congratulations! You now have a stylish text effect. Keep it up!
