Cool Text Effect

To begin, create a new document at a size of 324 x 190 pixels with 041728 as the background color. Now select the "Text Tool" and use the below settings with c8c8c8 as the color. Download the font Neuropol here.

Your type should look like this.

Now that you have your text, you can now right click on the text layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Drop Shadow".

Do not click OK yet... still more to do

Now click on "Inner Shadow".

Do not click OK yet... still more to do.

Now click on "Inner Glow".

Do not click OK yet... still more to do

Now click on "Bevel and Emboss".

You may now click OK.

You should now have the following:

Using the "Pen Tool" draw the below shape with white as your color and turn the Fill down to 72%, then go to the main menu and select "Layer" then "Create Clipping Mask" or "Alt" (windows) "Cmd" (mac) the layer in the layers palette.

You should now have the following:

Now "Ctrl" click the text layer to create a selection around it. Then, go to the main menu and click on "Select" then "Modify" and then "Expand". Expand by 7 and click "OK".

You'll notice in the illustration below some arrows pointing to some empty areas. Grab the "Rectangular Marquee Tool" and while holding the "Shift" key in on your keyboard, begin to add to the selection as I have done below.

Next, create a new layer and call it "text background" then put it below the text layer. Now fill with the color 204a90. Keep the selection and go to next step.

Create yet another layer and put it below the "text background" layer. Call this layer "stroke". Now go to the main menu and select "Edit" then "Stroke". Choose White as the color, outside as the location and at 3 pixels.

Then go to "Filter" then "Blur" then "Gaussian Blur" and use the following settings.

Duplicate the "stroke" layer to get the below results.

Next, change the foreground color to 008aff and download this pattern.

Now right click on the "text background" layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Gradient Overlay".

To get the effect in the results, go to the canvas while in the Gradient Overlay dialog box and drag the light source on the canvas toward the right.

Now click on "Pattern".

Select the pattern that you just downloaded from the drop down menu.

You may now click "OK."
