In this tutorial you will learn how to create the wall with Egyptian Hieroglyphs.
First of all download this egyptian font (or this font) and install it.
Create new 300x500px document.
Select one of the given patterns and fill the canvas with it.

Give name for that layer “bg1”. Now go to Hue/Saturation (Ctrl+U) and use the following settings:
If you are using the first pattern then use such settings:
Colorize-checked
Hue 40
Saturation 40
Lightness -24
If you are using second pattern then these:
Hue 32
Saturation 50
Lightness -34
Create a new layer (Ctrl+Shift+N). Pick 19 px Hard Brush and draw several lines like this: (hold shift while drawing to get straight lines).
Duplicate bg1 layer (Ctrl+J) and name it “bg2”. Ctrl+click top layer (layer with the lines). Switch to bg2 layer and press Del. Delete the lines layer and deselect (Ctrl+D). Bg2 should be selected now. Go to Bevel and Emboss Blending Options. Set size to 2px and Depth to 240% all other settings leave default. Now go to Drop Shadow and set size to 8px. Leave other settings default. You should get something like this:
Merge all layers (Ctrl+Shift+E). Now select Vertical Type tool (T) and chose Egyptian font. Start typing any texts you wish. You can make many layers with many different font sizes. When you finish you should get something like this:
Start merging all text layers until you have 2 layers: background and text. Duplicate background layer (select it, then press Ctrl+J). Name duplicated layer “bg3”. Now select text layer and click on it holding control. Switch to bg3 layer and press delete. Now hide the text layer and deselect it. Switch to bg3 layer and add Bevel and Emboss. Use such settings: size 1, Depth 560%, others default. Now go to Drop Shadow and set distance 0, depth 0, size 4, others default.
Switch to text layer, Ctrl+Click it. Change foreground color to #FD7F03. Create new layer (Ctrl+N) and fill it with foreground color. Deselect, then change layer Blending Mode to “Multiply”. Add Outer Glow. Use all default settings. Then go to Stroke and set color #CCC8C0, outside, size 1px.
Name that layer “color” and delete invisible layer. Create new layer (Ctrl+Shift+N), name it “gradient” and put it on top. Press “D” to restore colors. Pick Gradient tool (G) and use these settings
Drag from upper left corner to lower right corner. You should get this
If you are using first pattern: Set Blending Mode to Overlay. If you are using second pattern: set Blending Mode to Linear Burn and set opacity to 56%. Now merge all layers (Ctrl+Shift+E).
