Gel Text Effect

Here we will tell how to make a attractive Gel text in Photoshop.

I have use the photoshop 8 but there is not so much difference from the earlier versions.

1. Take a new file of Height = 400 pixels, Width = 400 pixels, resolution 72 dpi and in the RGB mode.

2. Now take the text tool from the tool bar

3. Type what ever you want. I have taken Gel and take the font which is round

Choose the color coding. which I have used # AC0303 for the text.

4. Now click on the text layer with the Ctrl key to make a selection as shown.

5. Now goto menu bar and Select>Modify>contract.

6. Use setting for the contraction or as the size of your text.

7. Make a new layer in the layer palette and fill the white colour to it

8. Give the Gaussian blur of the same property which I have given.

9. Your Image should be shown like this.

10. Now place the blur layer in the side of the text with the help of move tool as shown in the image below.

11. Now make the copy of the layer 1

12. Put blending mode to the layer 1 copy

13. Place it as shown in the image because the lightening effect will come as shown.

14. Goto the menu bar Select>reselect the selection will be appeared.

15. Make a new layer and fill the white colour to the selection as shown in the Image.

16. Now take the eraser tool from the tool palette with the property which I have used

17. Start erasing the white colour as shown in the image but first turn off the eye of layer 1and layer 1 copy

18. Erase the whole area and Image will be like this

19. Place this in side of the text as I have done with the layer 1.

20. Turn on the eye of the layer 1 and layer 1 copy. Your Image will be look like

21. Make the copy of the text layer as shown below.

22. Now goto menu bar Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur use the property as given below.

23. Your final Image should be shown like this which is having the wetting look.

You can make many more attraction by using colours.
